LaMP's Pastors
![]() Becca Seely
Pronouns: she/her/hers Becca is one half of the dynamic duo that provides pastoral leadership for LaMP. In addition to serving as LaMP's co-pastor, Becca serves as pastor of PRiSM Student Ministry in lower Manhattan and as Executive Director of Lutheran Ministries in Higher Education. She was not raised in church and first began to explore questions of faith when she was in college. As a result, she is particularly passionate about working with young adults who are asking questions about God and what gives our lives meaning and purpose. In her free time, Becca enjoys cooking, hanging out with her wife and two young kids, planning elaborate theme parties, and attempting absurdly complicated craft projects. She holds a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University. Becca is a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. |

Ekama graduated with her Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and also has a BA from the University of North Texas. Ekama is currently pursuing ordination in the Presbyterian Church(USA). |

Student Leaders
2023-2024

For 2023-2024, LaMP's Student Leaders are:

Liv Kouveras. Student Leader. Liv is a senior at Columbia College majoring in Religion and Education Studies. After graduating, she hopes to be able to get her teacher's certificate and also be able to work in youth ministry as well. She has always grown up going to church at home in Bucks County, PA, but really started getting involved in her sophomore year of high school, especially with the worship team and youth group. Now, Liv loves to grow deeper in her faith as well as grow closer to other members of the community. In her spare time, Liv loves to read, play guitar, or whip up a new recipe in her kitchen. Liv is currently studying abroad but looks forward to rejoining LaMP in the spring!

James Vaughan. Student Leader. James is a senior at Columbia University from New York City by way of Atlanta, Georgia. At Columbia, James is an Anthropology major along with being a pitcher on the Lions baseball team. James grew up in the church, as both of his parents are ordained ministers who have practiced in churches at various points in his life and have emphasized religiosity as part of their family values. After graduating from Columbia, and hopefully playing some professional baseball, James hopes to teach middle school, following in his extended family’s long tradition of education. James is adamant that we, humans, are god’s gift to each other, and that life is a blessing, and he hopes to spread the equitable will of God through impactful relationships as long James lives. James’s upbringing in social justice oriented religious spaces, both Christian and non-Christian, raised him to see God and Jesus as social radicals who believe in racial, LGBTQ+, women’s, and class equity. In his free time, James enjoys anything baseball-related (go Red Sox!), listening to music (send good recs!), eating burritos (more recs please!), playing his electric bass, baking, and starting pointless arguments with his friends. James has an A.A. from Monroe College in Human Services.
